Goals
As an advisory council to the Town Engineer and Facilities Manager, we are responsible for supporting compliance of Town Projects and Facilities with ADA law for public spaces that are maintained by the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea. To that end, we will work the Town Engineer and Facilities Manager to detail areas of success and improvement, to prioritize areas for change, and to assure that town improvement initiatives increase accessibility of town properties.
Additionally, as a group of citizens interested in improving access in our community, we will work more generally to offer guidance and education regarding methods and parameters of compliance with ADA law and how to achieve them. We aim to be a resource to local businesses and members of the community. To do so, we will distribute and facilitate access to information on compliance guidelines, requirements, protocols, and laws. We will advocate with Town committees, businesses, and volunteer groups to ensure events, activities, meetings, and buildings are accessible to all residents.
