Overview


The Select Board is the governing body of the Town. There are five board members, elected for staggered three-year terms. The Select Board appoints the Town Administrator and most boards, committees and commissions. The Board works within the framework of Town bylaws and pertinent General Laws of the Commonwealth.

The Select Board is responsible for:

  • Appointing the Town Administrator.
  • Appointing boards, committees and commissions as determined by State law and local bylaw.
  • Issuing alcoholic beverage and other licenses.
  • Setting overall policy - financial and otherwise - for the Town.
