Disposal Fees, Hours and Locations

In addition to WEEKLY curbside recycling and kitchen compost collection, WEEKLY trash collection, and a Transfer Station, the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea offers the following disposal options to residents:

Drop options for Hard-to-Dispose of Items, see chart below. The chart will be valid up to June 30, 2017. On July 1, 2017 new prices and some changes will come into effect, scroll down to find detailed information. All disposal stickers and passes must be purchased in advance from the Town Clerk's office.

Some collections occur in other locations, such as the Highway Garage, and Town Hall; DPW Office and BOH Office, see chart below or call DPW Office at 978-526-1242 for more information.

Motor Oil - Highway Garage - 5 gallon max. limit - Wednesday's only.

Effective July 1, 2017, following new regulations from MassDEP, the Town of Manchester by the Sea, will separate out and process trash and recyclables in new ways. Below is a link to a comprehensive list that details the price of stickers required and how and where different items will be collected or can be taken. Thanks to a grant from MassDEP, there is a new container at the Transfer Station designated to RECYCLE just rigid plastics such as; children's plastic toys, lawn chairs, 5 gallon buckets etc. Please open the link below for more information. Please see the Transfer Station attendant prior to deposit.
