Disposal Fees, Hours and Locations

In addition to WEEKLY curbside recycling and kitchen compost collection, WEEKLY trash collection, and a Transfer Station, the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea offers the following disposal options to residents:

Drop options for Hard-to-Dispose of Items, see link below. On July 1, 2017 & March 2018 new prices and some changes came into effect, scroll down to find detailed information. All disposal stickers and passes must be purchased in advance from the Town Clerk's office.

Some collections occur in other locations, such as the Highway Garage, and Town Hall; DPW Office and BOH Office, see chart below or call DPW Office at 978-526-1242 for more information.

Motor Oil - Highway Garage - 5 gallon max. limit - Wednesdays only.

CURBSIDE ONLY a small amount if entirely contained within an orange trash bag. None at the Transfer Station

New Regulations for Trash & Recycling

Effective July 1, 2017, following new regulations from MassDEP, the Town of Manchester by the Sea, will separate out and process trash and recyclables in new ways.
