BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – June 14, 2018

Route 127 Paving: The state is milling and repaving Route 127/Summer Street from Hickory Hill eastward to the Magnolia Woods field complex in Gloucester.  Depending on weather, etc., the work may last through July.  Expect travel delays.

Selectmen Organization and Meeting Schedule:  The newly constituted Board continued the tradition of rotating leadership.  Susan Beckmann is now the chairperson and Arthur Steinert the vice chairperson. Much appreciation is extended to Eli Boling and Susan Beckmann for serving in these respective positions the last two years.  Due to vacation schedules, meetings over the summer months may deviate from the usual first and third Monday’s.  Our next meeting will be Monday, June 25.

Round-about Trial:  The trial layout has been removed. Thanks to all who have submitted comments.  There is still plenty of time to do so.  A preliminary discussion about the trial will take place at the Selectmen’s Meeting on June 25.  A final decision by the Board likely will take place at a future meeting still to be announced.  As always, public comments at Selectmen meetings are welcome.

Want to be more engaged in community affairs?  The Town relies on volunteers to serve on various boards and committees.  Most groups meet once or twice a month.  Interested in serving?  Fill out a volunteer application form which can be found on the Town’s web site.  Need more information?  Stop by the Selectmen’s Office at Town Hall.
