BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – March 28, 2019
Annual Town Meeting Time! Be sure to attend this Monday, 7:00PM at the Memorial School. Didn’t receive your yellow bag from the Scouts? Stop by Town Hall for a copy of the Annual Report and the Finance Committee Report or go on-line to the Town’s web site.
Town Elections: Just a few more days before Nomination Papers are due for the Annual Town Elections come May 21. The deadline for submitting the requisite signatures to run for an elected office is April 2. Nomination forms can be picked u p and returned to the Town Clerk’s Office. The following positions will be on the ballot: one Moderator for one year, two Selectmen for three years each, two School Committee members for three years each, one Board of Library Trustee for a three year term, three Planning Board members for three years each, and three constables for three years each. Grant Updates: Recent grant application submittals include a request to the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission for assistance with a parking study of the central village area, a request to the state for assistance in assessing the development potential/constraints of lands in the Limited Commercial District (north of Route 128) and a request to the Department of Environmental Remediation to begin preliminary assessment of enlarging the Sawmill Brook culvert at School Street.
Selectmen’s Meeting Schedule: With Town Meeting and the Patriot’s Day Holiday, the next regular Selectmen’s meeting is Tuesday, April 16.
