Transition to Regional Timeline

February 2023 - Date Set to Go Live with NSR911

Efforts to create a smooth transition to dispatching our Police and Fire calls through the North Shore Regional 911 Center (NSR 911) have been underway since August 2022. Both Chiefs and their staff have been working closely with the staff at the NSR911 Center to ensure that the new service is seamless for residents. Over 300 action items were generated on a "to-do" list with excellent progress being made to date. The work is ahead of schedule and the NSR 911 Center will begin dispatching local public safety calls starting March 1.

The Police Station lobby will continue to operate as normal through July 2023. The Select Board is currently considering different staffing models to be able to provide lobby services to residents beyond July.

An open house and local public forum are being planned for residents. More information to come.

March 2022 - Non-binding Ballot Question

On March 21, 2022 the Board of Selectmen voted to place a question on the May 17 election ballot about public safety dispatch. This non-binding question will give residents a chance to express their opinion on whether public safety dispatch should remain in-house or move to a regional center.  The Board of Selectmen have also held five public forums on this topic. Recordings are linked below.
