Tuck's Point Rotunda Project

Tuck's Point Rotunda Fall

Updates to this page will be made as information is received.

September 2023

On September 18, the Select Board voted on Option 1 which will keep the iconic Town landmark in the same location as it is now but will raise it to 19 ft. to protect it from sea level rise and future storm damage. Next steps will be to secure the necessary permits, funding and final design. Construction is estimated to begin sometime in 2025. Residents will be kept informed of updates and progress.

June 2023

The Select Board was presented with the study results and options to preserve the Rotunda (see below). They will begin the process of weighing each of these options and gathering public feedback. The first public forum will be held on Thursday, July 27.

December 2022
The Town received a grant to hire an engineering firm to present options for undertaking the needed rebuilding of the support structures to the Tuck's Point Rotunda. Included in the options will be the possible relocation of the Rotunda in anticipation of sea level rise and bigger storms. The goal is to propose viable options for Town residents to consider as we work to protect this iconic landmark. Public forums to discuss the options in more detail will be planned in the new year.
