BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – August 3, 2017

Monthly Selectmen’s Newsletter first edition is out!  To bolster communications with residents, we are mailing all households updates once a month.  We will send it electronically to those who want to provide an email address at the Notify Me button on the Town’s web site.

MBTA Train service curtailed.  Please check MBTA website or the Town’s website for alternative bus schedules. Weekday service should resume August 14.

MBTA Proposed Communication Towers:  The MBTA has suspended the project for another 2 weeks as an internal review continues with the next status report expected at the August 14 Control Board meeting..  Efforts to modify the project continue – see the Town Administrator’s latest article.  Resident responses have been impressive.  There is still time to write your own letter.  Go to the Town’s web site for contact information

Volunteers needed for 16 board and committee vacancies! If you are interested in volunteering please contact the Selectmen’s Office at Town Hall. A list of vacancies can be found on the Town’s web site – everything from the Animal Control Board to the Zoning Board of Appeals!

Construction work continues around town causing some travel delays and disruptions to water service.  The Pleasant Street area is undergoing water work which will cause water shut down for up to a day per house as service lines are switched from the old 6” line to the new 16” line.  Check for updates on the various projects at the DPW page of the Town’s web site.

Town Hall Hours:  Thursday evenings Town Hall offices will remain open until 6:30PM beginning July 6.  The Building Inspector will hold office hours from 4:30PM to 6:30PM on Thursdays.

Monday and Tuesday Trash, Recycling and Compost pick-up will be on the regular schedule.
