BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – August 24, 2017
MBTA Monopoles: Your voices made a difference – thank you! The T has asked their vendor for a new, scaled- back plan citing the many concerns citizens raised about the negative impacts of the proposed towers. We will continue to push for a transparent and community-based review process of any revamped plans.
Dredging in the Harbor will begin on October 31st. Moorings along with town owned docks (Reed and Mors Pier) will be moved beginning September 11-September 25. Please note the dredging company will be permitted to work around the clock and there will be minimal noise from the generators. We appreciate your cooperation during the dredging.
Fall Special Town Meeting: The warrant is officially open for the Special Town Meeting set for Monday, October 16. Any petition articles (requires 100 voter signatures) are requested to be in by September 11.
Monthly Selectmen’s Newsletter first edition is out! To bolster communications with residents, we are mailing all households updates once a month. We will send it electronically to those who want to provide an email address at the Notify Me button on the Town’s website. The newsletter has prompted a number of people to inquire about volunteering for various boards – thank you! A list of vacancies is on the town website as well.
Construction work continues around town – Your patience is appreciated! Pleasant Street water service line work continues as does work on Lincoln Street; both should be done by the end of August.
Town Hall Hours: Thursday Town Hall offices are open from 8:30 - 6:30PM. The Building Inspector office hours are from 4:30PM to 6:30PM on Thursdays. Offices are also open 8:30AM-5:00PM M, T, W; closed Fridays.
