BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – September 7, 2017
Master Plan Work: The development of our new master plan is entering a critical phase as we work to develop specific action steps that will advance the Shared Community Vision developed earlier. Numerous opportunities for your input will be available in the coming weeks – drop in Master plan Office hours on September 13th and 20th from 5-7PM; conversation tables at the upcoming school open houses September 14 and 28; and an online community wide survey soliciting your opinion on various priority ideas. What are the lasting legacies we should be leaving future generations?
Fall Special Town Meeting: The warrant is officially open for the Special Town Meeting set for Monday, October 16. Any petition articles (requires 100 voter signatures) are requested to be in by September 11. A complete list of the articles to be voted on will be sent to all residents in the October edition of the Selectmen’s monthly newsletter.
Construction work continues around town: The numerous simultaneous projects have been a bit frustrating to navigate but the end is in sight! Much of the work is winding down. (Projects overlapped too much when delays were encountered.) Still to do is the re-striping of Pine, School and Bridge Streets. Dredging of Areas B and C of the harbor will begin the first of October. Additional private dredging in the inner harbor will also take place.
Town Hall Hours: Thursday Town Hall offices are open from 8:30 - 6:30PM. The Building Inspector office hours are from 4:30PM to 6:30PM on Thursdays. Offices are also open 8:30AM-5:00PM M, T, W; closed Fridays.
Monday and Tuesday trash, recycling and compost pick-up will be on the regular schedule.
