BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – October 11, 2018

Our 375th Anniversary is coming up!  The Town will celebrate its 375th anniversary come 2020. Volunteers are needed to help plan the celebrations.  This is a great opportunity get involved in a fun town project.  Please contact our office at Town Hall if you are interested.

Special Town Meeting scheduled for October 15, 7PM -  A town vote on the proposal for a new elementary school is the main attraction along with two town bylaw changes (reduce the size of the Finance Committee from 9 to 7 members; clarify snow ban parking violation fines.) Need more information?  Check out the School’s and Town’s web sites for details. A required second vote on the school project will be held November 6th by ballot in conjunction with the state elections.

Construction Work:  A new drainage line will be installed on Burnham Lane and down School Street to Sawmill Brook.  The work will last through early November.  One lane of traffic will be maintained most of the time but occasional detours may be necessary.  You are encouraged to use an alternate route.

How do you like to get your town news?  Efforts continue to communicate effectively with residents.  New social media platforms are coming soon.  We will continue to use the Cricket and occasionally send out mailings to all households.  Notification of meetings, etc. can be received by signing up through the Town’s web site.  Let us know what works best for you!
