BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – 9.15.2016
The Master Plan Community Survey remains open. Please share your opinions and ideas via the survey, and plan to attend the Master Plan Visioning Open House at Manchester Essex Regional High School on September 26 from 6-9pm. Survey results will be presented along with additional information and opportunities to help create Manchester’s Community Vision. Contact Town Planner Sue Brown at 978-525-6436 or browns@manchester.ma.us for additional information.
On September 19th, the Board of Selectman will be holding a Public Hearing to review and gain feedback on the parking changes that were made at the start of the summer.
The Board of Selectmen is pleased to announce that, in conjunction with the new Town website that debuted in May, the MBTS Mobile app is now available for iPhone and Android. The app will enable users to quickly navigate to various parts of the Town website from mobile phones and tablets. Users can download this free app from iTunes and Google Play.
The town-wide water ban continues. Despite some recent rain, the Commonwealth has issued a Drought Warning, one stage shy of an emergency. Please continue to conserve water and honor the outdoor watering ban. No washing of cars, driveways and sidewalks. Hand-watering of plants and yards between the hours at 5pm and 8am ONLY.
Per order of the Fire Chief, effective immediately, all open burning is prohibited. No campfires, open flame cooking fires or recreational fires. This includes open fires on all town beaches. This is due to the unusually dry weather and dry fuel conditions. The use of charcoal cooking fires and gas cooking fires is allowed. Thank you for your cooperation on this issue.
Trash, recycling and compost will be picked up on a weekly basis; bins should be placed at the curb by 7am.
