BOS WEEKLY UPDATE – January 10, 2019
Harbor Advisory Committee Public Forum: The HAC is hosting a forum on how best to manage boater traffic off of Long Beach at the mouth of the harbor. The Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, January 16 starting at 6:30PM at the American Legion Hall behind Town Hall. Representatives from the MA Division of Marine Fisheries and the MA Office of Coastal Zone Management will be attending. Public comment will be taken on ideas for managing the number of boaters who congregate in this area.
Budget Development: Work continues on the review of the preliminary town and school budgets for FY2020 which will be voted on at the Annual Town Meeting in April. The Finance Committee meets with the School District on January 16th. The Finance Committee and members of the Board of Selectmen meet on January 23 for an update on all budgets. The School District hosts a final public hearing on their proposed budget January 29. Additional details can be found on the Town and District web sites.
Managing your Trash! A new flyer providing the details of how to handle the proper disposal of your solid waste was mailed to all households. If you did not receive your copy or would like another one please contact the DPW Office. Instructions on recycling, new procedures for disposing of bulking items, holiday pick-up schedules for the new year and more is all provided in the flyer. We need your help in maintaining uncontaminated recyclable materials and request your adherence to the printed instructions!
