Meet the Candidates for School Committee from 8:30 to 10:00am on Friday, May 6 in the Community Room at the high school. Sponsored by Parents of Manchester Essex Middle School and the Memorial School PTO. Three candidates are running for two Manchester positions.

Manchester Community Cleanup takes place next Saturday, May 14. Groups or individuals can check in at the Community Center starting at 8:30am to get supplies, refreshments and an area assignment. Pizza and ice cream will be served at 12:30pm following the cleanup. Please consider helping for an hour or more on Saturday morning to make our community more beautiful.

The recruiting process for a new Police Chief and new Fire Chief will get underway soon. Residents who are interested in serving on a candidate review panel should send a letter of interest to the Board of Selectmen/Town Administrator at Town Hall.

Interested in converting your home and/or business to solar electricity? The Cape Ann Solar Challenge has been extended to June 30.

This year’s Town Election takes place on May 17. Polls will be open at Memorial School from 7am to 8pm. Included on the ballot is the bond vote for water and sewer system improvementsClick here to view a sample ballot.

On or Off?
Recycling and curbside compost will be picked up Monday and Tuesday, May 9 and 10. Trash, recycling and curbside compost will be collected the following week on May 16 and 17.
