Although the Memorial Day Parade was canceled due to forecasted bad weather, a crowd of approximately 150 gathered at the American Legion for this year’s ceremony. The Selectmen extend a special thank you? to all armed services personnel past and present.
As efforts continue to improve parking in town, the portion of Beach Street that borders Masconomo Park will be restriped by the end of this week to adjust for parking spaces that were added this spring.
Work on the Pine Street water project is targeted for completion by the end of June. The main line is done, and new service lines will be installed over the next several weeks. Traffic will be temporarily diverted around a pipe at the intersection of Pine and Pleasant Streets for a short period as the project draws to a close.
Please support the 4th of July Committee’s fundraising efforts! The final push is on to raise the funds necessary to make this year’s parade and fireworks display a grand success. The Red, White and Blue Breakfast takes place Saturday, July 2; fireworks and a concert are scheduled for Sunday evening, July 3; and the parade follows on Monday, July 4.
