Master Plan Phase II Meetings Address Land Use Options
Phase II of the Master Plan planning process involves identifying and evaluating potential land use options in Manchester. The Master Plan Committee will host two preliminary meetings on the topic this month, a neighborhood work group and an economic development work group. Facilitated by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, the meetings will consider a number of land use options and discuss how these could impact pedestrian and bicycle friendliness, quality of life, town character, public facilities, natural resources, housing diversity, the local economy, schools and local tax revenues.
The first meeting will be held on Thursday, May 18 from 1-3pm, and will focus on neighborhood issues. The second meeting will take place on Thursday, May 25 from 1-3pm, and will focus on economic development issues. Both meetings will take place at the Community Center. While a number of work group participants have been invited in advance, the public is welcome to attend both meetings.
The work group meetings will be followed by a larger community forum on land use options in June at Manchester Essex Regional High School. Date and details to follow.
